The mission of First Church of Christ Youth Group is to build up these children for a life of Kingdom Work.
We, as sponsors, want to teach these children how to love God, to love others, and to magnify the name of Jesus Christ. In order to complete this mission we meet regularly for meals, have lessons, attend Christian events, participate in Church activities, and serve our community.

 

Our youth sponsor team is led by Pastor Matthew Kinley and his wife, Shana. Deacon Mike Johnson and his wife and women’s council member, Michell. As well as women’s council member, Erin Ferguson. The sponsors recognize the authority of God, and realize that they are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. They desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word as a model and example for the children. 

 

For the last year and a half the students have been studying the Parables of Jesus in an effort to better know our Savior and to create a book to share with their families and our congregation. The sponsor team has rotated through teaching lessons where the students have read the parables and outlined Key Words, Observations, and Applications.
